Get to know me

Janet has spent this year cooking and baking at The Green Welly café in Ditchling. She has had a varied career, working in hotel management, the NHS, and as the chef for a holiday & retreat centre for the visually impaired. Janet loves being part of a community and was instrumental in organising The Great Chailey Bake Off in 2017 and 2018, regularly takes part in the local Horticultural Society shows and has a passion for local litter picking. Her love of food came from her Mum who taught her to cook at the kitchen table, licking out the cake bowl and pinching the chopped vegetables before they even got as far as the pan. Janet is Mum to two adult children and three step children. The diet at home has become increasingly vegetarian and vegan and Janet loves to play with new ingredients, flavours and textures in creating delicious meals for family and friends. 

We only cycle so we can eat cake!
